Privacy Policy

There is no account, no login, and no database of users on this site. Almost everything it remembers about you is stored on your own device and never sent anywhere. This page says exactly what the exceptions are.

The short version

What stays on your device

The site stores a handful of values in your browser’s local storage. These never leave your device, are not readable by this site’s operator, and are not tied to any identifier for you:

You can erase all of it at any time by clearing site data for this domain in your browser settings. Doing so resets your progress permanently, because no copy exists anywhere else.

The site can also be installed to your home screen. If you do that, its files are cached on your device so it works offline. That cache holds the site’s own pages and images — no information about you.

The screenshot solver

When you give the solver an image, the image is read, the board is detected, and the puzzle is solved entirely by code running in your browser. The file is not uploaded to this site, is not sent to a third party, and is not retained after you leave the page. Nothing about the boards you solve is recorded.

What reaches other companies

Google Analytics

The site uses Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-0XPXCWCDQL) to count visits and see which guides get read. It sets cookies and collects the usual analytics signals — approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, referring site, and the pages you view. It is not used to build advertising profiles, and no advertising features are enabled.

Google processes this data as described in its own privacy policy. If you would rather not be counted, Google publishes a browser opt-out add-on, and any ordinary content blocker or a browser’s tracking protection will also stop it. The site works exactly the same either way.

Advertising

The site carries advertising supplied by Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners use cookies and similar identifiers to serve those ads, to cap how often you see the same one, and to measure whether an ad worked. Where personalized advertising is switched on and you have agreed to it, Google may also use your previous visits to this and other sites to choose which ads to show you.

How Google uses the data it collects from sites that run its ads is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. You can review and switch off personalized advertising at any time in Google My Ad Center, whether or not you have a Google account. Turning it off does not remove the ads; it removes the profiling behind them.

Third-party vendors and ad networks other than Google may also serve ads on this site. Any that do are governed by their own privacy policies, and their use of cookies for advertising can be switched off at aboutads.info/choices (US), youronlinechoices.com (EU/UK), or through your browser’s own cookie settings. Blocking advertising cookies does not stop any part of this site from working.

Ad requests carry the address of the page you are on and the ordinary signals your browser sends with any request. They never carry your name, your email address, your puzzle progress, or anything else you have typed into or achieved on this site — none of which leaves your device in the first place.

Consent, if you are in the EU, the UK, or Switzerland

Visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland are shown a consent notice before any personalized ad is served, and no personalized ad is served without a positive choice. The notice offers Consent and Manage options; the manage screen is where advertising purposes are refused, either one at a time or all at once, and whatever you choose there is recorded. You can change your mind whenever you like — the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page reopens the same choices.

Rejecting personalized advertising leaves the site showing non-personalized ads, which are chosen from the content of the page you are reading rather than from anything about you.

That notice governs advertising. Google Analytics, described above, is not covered by it and loads on every visit; the opt-out add-on and any ordinary content blocker both stop it.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which like any web host records standard server request logs, including IP addresses, for delivery, security, and abuse prevention. Those logs are Cloudflare’s, handled under its privacy policy.

Links that leave the site

Links to the App Store, Google Play, the tip jar, and the social sharing buttons all hand you over to companies with their own privacy practices. Nothing about you is passed along with the link, but from the moment you arrive, their policy governs, not this one.

What is never collected

Children

The site is a puzzle game suitable for all ages, and it is not directed at children in the regulatory sense: it collects no personal information from anyone, of any age, and asks for none. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, write to us and it will be deleted.

Your choices

Because no personal data is stored on any server here, there is no account to access, correct, or delete. In practice your controls are: clear this site’s local storage to erase everything it remembers, block analytics to stop being counted, and email us about anything you have sent by email. For data held by Google or Cloudflare, those companies’ own policies and request processes apply.

Changes to this policy

If the site ever adds an analytics tool, an ad network, a font or script from another host, or anything else that receives a request from your browser, this page is updated first. The revision date at the top marks the last change.
