Fixed boards, so progress means something

The practice sizes roll a fresh random board every time. The campaign does the opposite: each level's board is derived from the level number, so it is the same hundred — or twenty-five — cells for everyone, every time. That is what makes "cleared up to 43" a statement about you rather than about which boards you happened to draw, and it is why the game can remember your position as a single number.

Levels unlock in order: clearing one opens the next. Progress and per-level best times are kept in your browser, not on a server.

The only place to play 6×6 and 8×8

The four practice modes cover 5×5, 7×7, 9×9 and 10×10 — the sizes the difficulty settings name. The campaign fills in the gaps: fourteen at 6×6 and twenty-four at 8×8. Those sizes appear nowhere else on the site.

The curve lingers rather than jumps: eight levels at 5×5, fourteen at 6×6, twenty at 7×7, twenty-four at 8×8, twenty-two at 9×9 and sixty-two at 10×10. Each tier stays long enough for its reasoning to become ordinary before the board grows.

How it relates to the other modes

The campaign is the slow route to the same place Extreme starts at. If you would rather not climb, the practice sizes are open from the first visit and the daily asks nothing of your progress at all. The strategy articles in the learning centre apply to every one of them — the rules do not change with the board size, only the room they have to work in.

How many levels does the Meowdoku campaign have?

150, climbing from 5×5 to 10×10. Each is a fixed board rather than a random one.

Is level 12 the same board for everyone?

Yes. A level's board is derived from its number, so it never changes and never differs between players. That is what makes cleared-level counts comparable.

Where can I play a 6×6 or 8×8 board?

Only in the campaign. The difficulty settings cover 5×5, 7×7, 9×9 and 10×10; 6×6 appears at levels 9–22 and 8×8 appears at levels 43–66.

Do I lose progress if I close the tab?

No. Cleared levels and best times are stored in your own browser and survive a reload. Clearing your site data does clear them, and there is no copy anywhere else.
